Also working out can be not only painful (feeling the burn) but really, really boring. Incessantly running on the treadmill for thirty minutes or lifting heavy weights in the gym just seems redundant. However there is no reason that working out can't be more enjoyable.
Here are 4 tips to help you get more out of your workout with out it really feeling like one:
- Grab your mp3 player and go outside! Rather than staying in the same spot for 30 minutes staring at the wall or a television in a stuffy room, go outdoors for a walk, run, or even a hike with your iPod on. The change in scenery will make you feel more relaxed and put you in a pleasant mood.
- Take a class offered at the gym. Most gyms provide schedules with a variety of classes that you can take. They range from step aerobics classes, to zumba classes and many more. The reason for this is you're not alone. You're working out with a room filled with other people that are doing what your doing. There's more interaction and you can challenge yourself to work up to the levels of those around you.
- Do some new workout DVDs. Workout programs such as Hip Hop Abs and Turbo Jam are the types of workouts that get the job done but without boring music or exercise moves you've seen time and time again. Get a program that interests you so that you'll be more likely to stick with it.
- Switch up your routine! If all else fails just do something you don't usually do. Take a dance class, ride a bike, run up and down your stairs, go skydiving, do something that you aren't used to doing. Think outside the box! You may end up finding a new way to exercise that you enjoy which never even crossed your mind.
